Indoor camping anyone? We needed one last fun thing before the holiday vacation was through. While we were eating breakfast this morning, I was asked if we could go camping. Since it's gonna be a cold one tonight, we opted for setting up the tent in the dining room. We made a quick trip to the grocery store for some hot dogs and s'more ingredients. Even made a 3D campfire out of construction paper, which I will post below.

Sorry, I haven't been posting regularly lately, but it will get more frequent next week. So far, we've picked up family at the airport, had a second Christmas, assembled a Spongebob Lego kit, made a Rice Crispy Holiday House, installed a fish tank, played video games, setup a Zip-It, chased Zhu-zhu Pets, and fixed a Barbie house. Tomorrow, we are going to see a movie and stare at the fish a little while. Talk to you all soon! I miss you all!

Like most computer geeks, I want to be at the top of my game and hopefully make a decent living doing so. So, no teenaged vampires, wanna-be wizards, or stories of ancient civilizations predicting the end of the world for me. Nothing but pure command-line reference. I might go after the LPI-Cert this year. Gotta get crackin'

"Take that, you vile beast!" Sometimes wrapping is like dragonslaying at this time of year. So far, I must've done close to thirty packages. I'm down to wrapping as it comes in now. Still have a few more things from Amazon and then I can take a break.
The TSA doesn't allow gift wrapping unless it's for them, so my mom will have to wrap the presents for my brother's family when she gets back home. I feel really bad that she has to take care of that for me, but what can you do. I thought about shipping them on my own, but at this point, they would probably arrive in March.
I hope they have a nice Christmas up there. It's my nephew Sawyer's first one. That is always a fun time.
Have I mentioned that I love my couch? LOL It's been nicknamed the "narcoleptic couch" by several people in my life. Knocks me out everytime I kick my feet up!
Pay no attention to that very OLD computer behind me. I wonder why people don't rave about classic computers like they do cars. Probably too geeky or something. :P
Anyway... this is what you get tonight. Me and my Dell OptiPlex GX1, Hot Rod Edition. It has a Pentium 2 366 Mhz Processor, 256MB of RAM, and a whopping 40GB drive in it. Souped it up myself! I run Ubuntu on it and test apps with it before I break the good PCs.
I'll scrap it someday, maybe find another used one with a little more horsepower. but it has served me well and it still runs like the day I bought it.
Accomplished a lot today. The last soccer match of the season was today, That was quickly followed by a party/trophy ceremony at a local restaurant called Sweet Mesquite. Awesome brisket sandwiches, btw. Check them out if you ever find yourself in H-Town. Another clear night sky. I was actually able to see the moon tonight with the telescope, though it is in its waxing cresent phase.
I know @chrisw357 will ask. No, I didn't take the moon picture. It is actually from the Cassini Spacecraft. In case anyone was ever wondering, unless otherwise stated all NASA photographs are property of the taxpayers and therefore public domain. Real interesting fact I learned tonight.
Anyway, I am closing out the night by playing a little bit of Doom on my Sansa MP3 Player. There is a saying in the IT World: "If it doesn't run Doom, you aren't done hacking it." If anyone is interested in how I managed to put video games on a MP3 player, please let me know, otherwise I will spare you the gory details.

Been a lot of questions on my mind this entire week. The answers will come soon, I guess. Just have to be patient.
I do have a question for all of you. If you could start any kind of business you wanted without funding concerns, what would it be?
I will start this off by saying it would probably be a photography studio for me, maybe with an attached classroom. It would be fun to help people learn the ins and outs of cameras on the side. I'd replace the traditional darkroom with a ton of servers and offer photo hosting online, kind of like my very own flickr.
