She makes me feel so awesome with the greeting cards. I'm not going to be very apologetic about not boothing daily anymore. Just going to post as I see fit. I'm busy. I will when I can. Anyway... back to "rockstar" girl. I really enjoy getting cards in the mail from her, being reminded that it will be a month in a few days, and pretty much everything she does. There is nothing wrong with romance. I like saying sweet things and hearing them in return. I'm sure all the realists are collectively gagging right now, but I am happy and interestingly enough, she was the girl next door at one time in my life. (Double gag from the grumpy people in the dark corner of the booth.) I'll tell you all a little secret: your partner will love to receive cards in return too.

Lewis Carrol was an awesome author. We've got about 80 pages left in our double feature. H realized the impeccable timing of reading these two stories tonight when she found out Alice was seven-and-a-half. The truth is, I honestly didn't know myself. We have also had several discussions about how movies don't always follow the book. A seven-and-a-half year old can handle these truths quite well. So no, Tim Burton didn't exactly follow the book. Yes, we have two wonderful storylines to follow now. Different people have different interpretations of how stories should occur and yes, Daddy now has to wear reading glasses because he stares at screens too long...

Taken a little bit of relaxation in on the couch after a very hectic day. Got lots to do and so little time. LOTS! Anyway I will fill you all in later. Don't expect too much dialog in the next week or two, but I will catch up with you all as much as I can.

Got some practice in this evening on the strings. I heard Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here and just had to learn the intro. Should be just a matter of picking up the chord progression and I'll have the song. My other song of the night was Fade to Black by Metallica. I'm not exactly sure a Kirk Hammet guitar solo is a realistic target right now. hehe. I think it may be time for one of these things: http://www.accurate-edge.com/gripmastergripexerciser.aspx . I really like the guitar and would practice all the time, but my left fingers are all over the place, trying to reach some of the frets. I am having fun with it. That's all I ever really wanted. Rockstar is not exactly my ideal title anyway. I just listen to my favorite tunes and look em up on http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/ .

In the "Cuz you gotta have a hobby" category, I've been working on a customized desktop theme now that the dust has settled from Ubuntu 10.04. Here's a screencap from a tool I found called Shutter, It really is a pretty awesome operating system. I've tried other distros, but I keep coming back to it.

Houston, San Antonio, Houston, San Antonio... Spend my weekends bouncing between the two lately. One of these days, I might actually take some photos from the Riverwalk or The Alamo, or somethin. This trip's highlights: The kids are quickly getting rounded up for the fourth, Toby made the trip with us in the truck, and I got some more sun. Cool stuff!
