This may have to turn into a page also in the long-term, but for now, I want to share my thoughts on Artificial Intelligence as of late. First off, I am testing AI. It’s not going to go away. It’s not going to be banned by the government. People are going to need to adapt.
Does that mean everyone should hookup with their favorite AI BAE and accept that others who think they are smarter than us are in charge now? Should we stop adopting pets at the shelter and dust off our Tamagachis and Furbies? Hell no.
This is how I plan to move forward: I am learning how to self host AI services just like I did with webservices, media files, and my personal notes. I will archive the LLMs myself. I will pay attention to the quiet parts like “We may use your prompts to further train our next version.” Every step will be taken to ensure data is shared only when permission is given.
I stand by my previous statement on Facebook. This is the point where trolls stop doing what they can with technology without any consequences. I don’t like what was done to Scarlett Johansson. This is a human problem. We have to be cautious who owns our personal information. It is no one else’s job to manage my data or yours. Fight for it.
