Research and Integration

I’ve been working with several fairly new technologies recently. It seems like there has been a distinctive marrying of robotics and computing. We have flying camera mounts now! I think they are more than that, though. Robotics is maturing with every new 3D printer, every drone, and every delivery robot on a campus.

Work is being done in the government to encourage new technology concepts. America is “having a go” at what is called BVLOS or Beyond Visual Line of Sight remote aircraft operation for delivery, data collection, and information processing.

Essentially, the computations are being performed outside of the Desktop or Mobile Computing platform now. What’s on the desk is no longer important. What you can access in the land, sea, air, and space overshadows any kind of virtual or artificial world.

My past has been with several corporations focused on functionality and I have thoroughly enjoyed all the learning experiences, successes, and even the failures. I have learned many nuances. My mind over the last few years has been wandering towards something over the horizon, though.

It’s time to focus on integration, making the tech seamless. This will involve selection, qualifying, and implementing of functionality.

More information will be shared soon, but I am officially a licensed Remote Airman and will likely continue more research into aviation, technology, robotics, and sensors. What happens after Part 107? Part 108, of course! Never stop learning.
